This Injury Management Specialist role is pivotal in leading early intervention and return-to-work outcomes across national secure services operations, supporting a high-risk and operationally diverse workforce.
 
Reporting into the Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing and working closely with the national health and safety team, the Injury Management Specialist will take full ownership of the return-to-work function, managing an active portfolio of claims, in conjunction with an outsourced provider.
 
Key Responsibilities include:

  • Lead early intervention and return-to-work strategies, driving timely, sustainable outcomes for injured employees across correctional and detention environments;

  • Manage workers compensation claims in close partnership with Marsh McLennan, maintaining oversight of claim performance, costs and transition;

  • Partner with operational leaders to provide expert advice on injury management, reasonable management action and workplace processes, building capability across the business;

  • Deliver triage support and guidance for new and emerging injuries, ensuring proactive intervention and appropriate escalation where required; and

  • Support the implementation of the Solv Injury Management System, contributing to system rollout, process design and continuous improvement of injury management frameworks.

**About You:
**
This is a hands-on role suited to a confident injury management professional who enjoys working in complex, high-risk environments. You will be comfortable operating in a developing function, bringing structure, building capability and partnering closely with stakeholders to drive improved outcomes.
 
The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Proven experience in workers compensation and injury management, with a strong track record of managing end-to-end claims and return-to-work outcomes;

  • Exposure to multiple Australian workers compensation jurisdictions, with the ability to interpret and apply varying legislative requirements;

  • Experience supporting blue-collar, operational or high-risk workforces, ideally within industries such as corrections, construction, manufacturing or similar;

  • Strong capability in managing psychological injury claims, with a sound understanding of psychosocial risk factors and early intervention strategies; and

  • Demonstrated ability to build, implement and continuously improve injury management systems, processes and frameworks within a developing or greenfield environment.
