About the Organisation
Our client is a well-established insurer with a strong reputation for service excellence and a genuine commitment to the people and businesses it protects. As the organisation continues to grow its data and insights capability, it's looking for a Manager to lead a team of analysts and data scientists and ensure their work translates into insight that genuinely helps clients.
About the Role
This newly created role sits within a specialist function focused on client-facing insight and engagement. You'll lead a small team of analysts and data scientists dedicated to this space, while also drawing on the organisation's broader centralised data capability - spending most of your own time as a business partner, engaging stakeholders on how data and insights can explain and solve real client and business issues.
Key Responsibilities
Lead a small, specialist team of analysts and data scientists, while leveraging and collaborating with the organisation's centralised data function;
Design and deliver executive and senior management briefings that translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives;
Present confidently to external stakeholders and clients, bringing their trends and performance to life through storytelling;
Maintain a genuine interest in client-level and portfolio-level trends and help clients understand and act on them;
Work closely with corporate governance, audit, risk and legal stakeholders as part of business-as-usual operations; and
Support the implementation of new systems and platforms that improve how insights are captured and shared.
About You
Proven experience leading a team of analysts, data scientists, or similar technical specialists;
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to proactively lead conversations with senior leaders rather than simply respond to requests;
A genuine interest in client and business performance trends, with the ability to translate them into clear, engaging narratives for varied audiences;
Comfortable and credible presenting to external audiences;
Corporate governance operational experience highly regarded - e.g. working alongside auditors, risk and legal teams; and
Exposure to CRM or similar system implementations is a plus, though not essential.
Why Apply
This is a genuine opportunity to lead a newly created function, reporting into a senior leader within a newly established part of the business. You'll have real scope to shape how the organisation uses data to engage clients - without the technical build being on your shoulders.
