Reporting directly to the Head of Risk, Insurance, Security & Resilience, this is a rare opportunity to lead the organisation's security and resilience function while helping shape the future of one of Queensland's most important critical infrastructure providers.
Leading a team of five specialists, you'll develop and deliver the strategic direction for protective security, business resilience and emergency management across the organisation. This role combines strategic leadership with practical delivery, partnering across the business to strengthen capability, protect critical assets and ensure Urban Utilities remains resilient in an increasingly complex operating environment.
You will also oversee the organisation's Security of Critical Infrastructure (SOCI) improvement program, supporting delivery of dedicated program of work to support the organisation meet’s it’s evolving legislative requirements. This role will play a central part in one of the organisation's largest strategic programs.
Additional Core Responsibilities
Developing and implementing Urban Utilities' security and resilience strategies;
Leading risk scenario planning, resilience exercises and lessons learnt programs;
Overseeing security governance, compliance and regulatory obligations, including SOCI requirements;
Providing trusted advice to the Executive Leadership Team and Board on security and resilience matters;
Managing strategic stakeholder relationships across government, regulators and industry; and
Driving continuous improvement, capability development and organisational resilience.
About You
We're looking for an experienced leader who brings expertise across both security and organisational resilience within a complex, high-risk or critical infrastructure environment, where security and resilience are fundamental to business strategy and operations.
You'll Also Bring
Demonstrated leadership experience managing high-performing specialist teams;
Experience developing enterprise security, resilience or protective security frameworks and improvement strategies;
Strong strategic thinking with the ability to influence executive and Board-level stakeholders;
Experience leading complex organisational change and improvement programs;
A collaborative leadership style with exceptional stakeholder engagement skills;
Ability to strive under pressure while managing competing priorities;
An understanding of Security of Critical Infrastructure (SOCI) obligations; and
Current or ability to obtain relevant security clearances.
