u&u Recruitment Partners are excited to partner with Diabetes Australia to recruit the role of National Manager – Partnerships & Growth.
Diabetes Australia is the national peak body supporting people living with, and at risk of, diabetes. They are leading the national response to Australia's largest health crisis, working in collaboration with people with lived experience, health professionals, and the community. Their work focuses on supporting people with diabetes to live well, providing information and services, and investing in prevention to reduce the impact of diabetes on society. Driven by values of compassion, commitment, and collaboration, the organisation advocates for positive change to create a healthier future for everyone.
The Role
The National Manager, Partnerships & Growth is a senior leadership opportunity with genuine strategic authority. As National Manager, Partnerships & Growth, you will lead and shape a national partnerships function; building the commercial models, executive relationships and acquisition strategies that directly fund Diabetes Australia’s mission. Reporting to the Group Executive Innovation & Growth, you will provide commercial leadership and strategic insight at the highest level of the organisation.
Key areas of focus include
Leading the national business development strategy and identifying new commercial opportunities;
Identifying and securing high-value partnerships across sectors such as health, digital health, corporate wellbeing, food systems and prevention;
Building and managing a national business development pipeline, including prospecting, pitching, and contracting;
Leading the end-to-end operationalisation of partnerships, ensuring they are fully embedded across the organisation;
Stewardship of senior-level partner relationships to ensure long-term mutual value and trust;
Collaborating with cross-functional teams (marketing, digital, policy) to ensure unified delivery; and
Leading and developing the Partnerships & Growth team through coaching and mentoring.
About You
You are a commercially sharp, strategically minded leader who knows how to build high‑value partnerships from the ground up. You’re as comfortable in a boardroom negotiation as you are shaping a multi‑year growth strategy, and you bring the commercial judgement to know when an opportunity is worth pursuing, and how to make it land.
What sets you apart is that you’re not just motivated by the deal; you want the work to mean something. You’re energised by bringing your commercial expertise to an organisation where the revenue you generate translates directly into better outcomes for people living with, or at risk of, diabetes across Australia.
You’ll bring extensive experience in partnerships, business development or commercial growth roles; a proven track record securing high‑value agreements, and the leadership capability to build a team and function around you.
In addition, you’ll possess
Strong negotiation, influencing, and senior stakeholder management skills;
Strategic thinking skills with strong analytical and commercial judgement; and
Flexibility to travel and attend events as required.
