Job Details

Our client is a well-established and continuously growing supplier of specialist tools, machinery and engineered solutions specifically aimed at the electrical utilities sector around Australia. This impressive, dynamic organisation has a history of continued growth, both organically and through acquisition.  As part of their structured growth plan, there is currently a newly created, strategically focused vacancy for a National Sales Manager to drive the growth of an emerging product portfolio of Asset Life Extension solutions. These solutions extend the operational life of existing assets and empower utilities to maintain aging infrastructure, while planning for future upgrades and reduce unplanned outages.

The National Sales Manager – Asset Life Solutions is a senior, nationally focused position responsible for transforming asset life extension products from emerging solutions into approved, specified and adopted utility standards. You will be the primary authority establishing the organisation as a technically credible partner to Australian electricity utilities, moving products through complex approval pathways to achieve sustainable revenue growth.

More specifically, you will be involved in the following

  • Owning the market strategy for the ALE portfolio, translating it into executable engagement plans aligned to utility approval pathways;

  • Building and maintaining relationships with EGM’s, Asset Management leaders, and engineering authorities from the major electrical utilities companies around Australia to influence standards and asset strategy;

  • Leading technically credible discussions that position the portfolio of solutions as risk-managed alternatives to asset replacement, not as discretionary products;

  • Acting as the internal subject-matter lead and conducting independent technical presentations on the portfolio of solutions;

  • Driving the initiation of product trials to ensure inclusion on approved product lists;

  • Managing and growing the existing ALE revenue base while transitioning early-adoption products into scalable revenue streams; and

  • Working closely with internal teams across engineering, sales and marketing teams to build permanent ALE capability and provide technical guidance.

Required Experience

  • Senior Business Development experience in utilities, infrastructure, or engineering-led markets with a focus on long-cycle value creation;

  • Demonstrated ability to engage credibly with senior utility leadership and engineering authorities;

  • Demonstrated understanding of utility asset management engineering approval process, with proven experience progressing technical products through trials to specifications;

  • Engineering qualifications or a strong level of relevant technical proficiency to ensure you can lead credible technical discussions independently; and

  • Familiarity with asset life extension solutions, asset remediation, or network maintenance would be an asset.

Benefits

  • Contribute the ongoing growth of a dynamic organisation;

  • Engage with senior and executive level managers from national utilities to fluence standards and asset strategy;

  • National role offering strategic input and ownership of the portfolio;

  • Utilise your technical, strategic and commercial skillset; and

  • Competitive negotiable package circa $170,000 + super + car / car allowance + bonus
