About the Company

Our client is a well-established construction business operating across commercial, education and specialised building sectors. With both a head office and a dedicated production facility in South East Queensland, we deliver complex, high-quality projects that require genuine technical rigour from our project teams. Our pipeline is strong and our people are central to how we deliver

About the Role

This role has been created specifically to support the delivery of a $25M+ education project located in the western suburbs of Brisbane.  This is a fixed term contract until February 2027.  You'll be based on site as a key part of the project team, working closely with the Project Manager and Construction Manager to drive quality, compliance and site administration outcomes from the ground up.

Day-to-day you'll own the ITP and NCR process, manage the RFI register, control documentation, coordinate subcontractors and consultants and ensure all works are delivered in strict accordance with contract documents, the NCC and relevant Australian Standards. You'll also play a key role in commissioning coordination and handover preparation as the project moves toward practical completion.

The role is primarily site-based, with some travel required to the head office and production facility (south Brisbane locations).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the full RFI, submittal and document control process;

  • Preparing, issuing and administering ITPs and NCRs across all critical work packages;

  • Attending and recording hold point inspections, coordinating certifier and authority requirements;

  • Maintaining the site diary, meeting minutes and photographic records;

  • Supporting commissioning, defects management and practical completion handover; and

  • Promoting a positive WHS culture and ensuring SWMS compliance on site.

About You

You are a technically capable Project Engineer with a minimum of 5 years' Australian commercial construction experience. You understand the pace of a live commercial site and can hit the ground running without handholding.

To be considered you must have:

  • At least 5 years' hands-on experience within the Australian commercial construction industry — this is non-negotiable;

  • Demonstrated experience managing ITPs, NCRs and the RFI process on commercial projects;

  • Solid working knowledge of the NCC / BCA and relevant Australian Standards (AS 3600, AS 4100, AS 4000, AS ISO 9001, AS/NZS 3000, AS 1670.1, etc.);

  • Ability to read and interrogate architectural, structural and services drawings;

  • Strong written communication skills — accurate minutes, reports and formal correspondence;

  • Experience with construction management platforms (Aconex, Procore, BuildPass, or similar);

  • White Card (mandatory);

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building, or related discipline (bachelor’s preferred; Diploma considered with strong experience); and

  • Progress toward CPEng / RPEQ registration will be well regarded, as will experience on education or similarly complex commercial projects.

If you're a technically grounded engineer who takes quality seriously and wants to own the detail on a significant Brisbane project, please apply now.
