Our client is a well-established, privately owned company that specialises in the hire and sales of a wide range of solutions used in the site set up for construction and infrastructure projects, and large-scale events. Over the last two decades, this dynamic, customer-focused organisation has experienced continual steady growth, and they now operate a conveniently placed network of branches all over Australia and New Zealand. As part of the company’s ongoing growth plans, there is currently an opportunity for a seasoned sales leader to join the team as the Regional Sales Manager for Queensland.
 
The Role

The Regional Sales Manager QLD is responsible for leading a team of Business Development Managers across the region, whilst also having direct involvement in driving new business and managing a portfolio of key accounts. The position will drive growth through customer acquisition, retention, and geographic expansion, while building a high-performing, values-driven sales team.
 
More specifically, some of your key areas of focus and involvement will be the following

  • Leading, coaching and developing a team of general and specialist BDMs across SEQ to achieve sales targets;

  • Identifying and pursuing opportunities to expand into new territories and industries;

  • Developing and executing regional sales strategies aligned with national objectives;

  • Representing the business in major tenders and proposals for Tier 1 infrastructure and construction projects;

  • Conducting regular 1:1s, team meetings, and performance reviews to monitor activity and outcomes;

  • Collaborating with Operations and Customer Service teams to ensure delivery excellence and customer satisfaction;

  • Analysing regional performance, reporting on pipeline health, forecasting, and CRM accuracy; and

  • Leading from the front to build and strengthen a high performance, engaged team, while modelling the company values.

Required Experience

  • 10+ years’ experience in sales and business development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role;

  • Strong existing network in Tier 1 Major Infrastructure, Civil Construction, and Commercial Construction;

  • Proven success in achieving revenue targets and expanding into new markets;

  • High-level communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills;

  • Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and the ability to juggle priorities in a fast-paced environment;

  • Strong understanding of CRM systems (Zoho preferred); and

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Sales, or a related field are preferred.
