About the Role
We are working with one of our key enterprise clients to help secure them a Risk Control Analyst to act as a trusted partner to the business, providing first-line risk support to senior leadership, including the General Manager and broader leadership team.
You’ll be responsible for helping shape and uplift the risk maturity of the Data & AI function, ensuring initiatives are delivered in line with enterprise risk frameworks, regulatory expectations and risk appetite.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll influence, guide and embed risk practices into real delivery outcomes, rather than sitting purely in governance.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll play a key role in strengthening risk capability across the business by:
Design, document and implement risk and privacy controls;
Supporting the uplift of risk foundations including incidents, actions, controls and risk registers;
Managing and maintaining the business unit risk profile, aligned to enterprise frameworks;
Embedding risk management into data and AI initiatives from planning through to execution;
Partnering with stakeholders to ensure risks are understood, managed and kept within appetite;
Supporting the development and uplift of controls and control frameworks;
Contributing to risk reporting, governance forums and senior stakeholder insights;
Conducting privacy impact assessments and supporting data governance obligations; and
Working closely with risk, legal and compliance teams to ensure alignment with regulatory expectations.
About You
You’re a proactive and commercially minded risk professional who enjoys working closely with the business and influencing outcomes.
You bring
Experience in a Line 1 Risk role, ideally within technology, data or digital environments;
Strong understanding of risk frameworks, controls and governance practices;
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks (APRA experience highly regarded);
Experience embedding risk into programs, projects or transformation initiatives;
Experience working in highly regulated environments especially Financial Services would be beneficial;
Experience supporting audits, assurance reviews or regulatory responses;
Strong stakeholder engagement skills across legal and risk and technology teams with the ability to influence across complex environments; and
A pragmatic approach with the ability to operate at pace and manage ambiguity.
