Join a well-established organisation on a 6-month contract, where you'll play a key role in strengthening safety capability, enhancing systems and delivering practical health and safety outcomes across a diverse operational environment. The role bridges corporate safety strategy with frontline execution, supporting leaders, mentoring capability and embedding a proactive, consistent safety culture across the business.

Reporting into the Health and Safety Manager, you will work as part of the corporate safety team, with key responsibilities including:

• Provide hands-on Health & Safety support across Brisbane office and operational sites;

• Conduct workplace inspections, compliance audits and site safety reviews;

• Lead incident investigations and drive effective corrective actions;

• Develop, review and maintain H&S procedures and technical documentation;

• Support implementation and continuous improvement of H&S management systems;

• Deliver analysis of H&S data, reporting insights and trends to management and governance forums;

• Coordinate and support strategic H&S projects aligned to organisational priorities;

• Provide risk management support including hazard identification and control effectiveness; and

• Deliver onsite training and facilitate workforce consultation and engagement.

The ideal person for this role will be an experienced, hands-on safety professional from a high-risk industry who is confident engaging operational teams, influencing behaviour, coaching others and driving practical, sustainable safety improvements across complex environments.

Additionally, you will have:

• Qualifications in HSE, engineering or relevant discipline;

• Demonstrated experience in high-risk industries (mining, construction, energy);

• Strong capability working with operational, blue-collar and highly unionised workforces;

• Proven experience in incident investigation, risk management and compliance auditing;

• Ability to influence, challenge unsafe practices and drive behavioural safety outcomes;

• Experience with safety management systems, continuous improvement and procedural governance; and

• Confident stakeholder engagement skills with ability to operate across site and corporate environments.
