About the Company

Multiplex is one of Australia's most respected tier-1 contractors, with a track record of delivering landmark built environment projects across the country and internationally. Known for technical excellence, strong delivery culture and a commitment to developing great people, Multiplex operates at the leading edge of complex construction delivery.

In Queensland, Multiplex is poised to deliver one of the most significant health projects in the state, We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead delivery on this mega-project that will define the region's healthcare landscape for decades to come.

About the Role

This is a rare opportunity to step into the lead Senior Project Manager position on one of Queensland's most significant hospital projects, a large-scale, complex build that will set the benchmark for health infrastructure delivery in the state.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will be the central delivery figure on the project owning day-to-day execution across multiple workstreams and leading a substantial team of Project Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, Services, HSE and Commercial personnel.

This is a broader role than a typical SPM position. You won't be managing a single workstream you'll be driving whole-of-project delivery, translating construction strategy into consistent on-the-ground performance and acting as the key escalation point across the entire delivery team. You'll own programme, sequencing, subcontractor performance, quality, safety, industrial relations and commercial outcomes.

Main works commence Q4 2026, with the project running through to 2031. The role is based on-site in Queensland, with some requirement for meetings at the Brisbane CBD head office.

About You

You're an experienced Senior Project Manager with a proven track record delivering large, complex construction projects in Australia and you've done it as the lead, not just as a workstream manager.

You bring:

  • At least 15+ years of Australian construction experience, with significant time spent at Senior Project Manager level on major builds;

  • A strong history of leading large, multi-disciplinary delivery teams.  You've managed Project Managers, Site Managers, Engineers and specialists and you know how to drive accountability and performance across a large team;

  • Demonstrated capability coordinating multiple concurrent workstreams on complex projects, with a sharp understanding of programme, sequencing, buildability and critical path;

  • Sound commercial and contractual acumen.  You manage cost, risk and forecasting with confidence and you're comfortable owning financial outcomes;

  • Experience in unionised environments, with the ability to manage industrial relations matters constructively;

  • Strong stakeholder management skills across clients, consultants and subcontractors;

  • A commitment to safety leadership and a track record of building strong site culture; and

  • Experience in health, defence, commercial or major institutional projects is well regarded. Health experience is advantageous but not essential. What matters most is that you've led delivery at scale, in Australia, on genuinely complex projects.

This is a high-accountability role with real influence. If you're looking for your next major chapter, a flagship project, a strong team around you, and a clear pathway forward, this is it.
