Site Finance Manager

As our Site Finance Manager, you will deliver value through leadership and financial oversight of our existing thermal portfolio which includes Callide and Kogan Creek power stations which are critical to supporting the energy needs of our customers of today and into the future. This is your opportunity to influence strategic decisions, deliver robust financial governance, and partner with operational leaders to shape the future of firming assets.

We’re looking for a dynamic leader who thrives on complexity and collaboration. You will combine sharp financial acumen with strong stakeholder engagement, to support efficient and profitable operation of our thermal sites. The role is suitable for candidates located residentially near our Callide Power Station or in Brisbane. Candidates based in Brisbane will be required to travel to site on a regular basis.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Lead Site Financial Planning and Budgeting: Develop and maintain accurate operational budgets and forecasts for the thermal portfolio;

  • Drive Performance Insights: Provide timely, meaningful analysis to Site Leadership Teams and the Finance leadership to improve operational outcomes**;**

  • Strategic Influence: Facilitate long-term site planning and contribute to the strategic direction of the thermal assets;

  • Monthly Financial Reporting: Manage journals, reconciliations, and reporting, delivering on Finance team KPIs;

  • Stakeholder Partnering: Partner with the Joint Venture commercial management team to support consistent and timely JV financial performance budgeting, analysis and reporting. Collaborate with other internal and external teams (including auditors) on site financial information;

  • Reporting Excellence: Maintain robust reporting frameworks for budget management, cost analysis, and critical insights for the thermal portfolio; and

  • Mentor & Develop: Build capability within your team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Degree level qualification in an accounting, commerce discipline;

  • Completed or working toward CPA, CA, CIMA, CFA (or other equivalent post graduate studies);

  • 10 years’ experience in a similar role;

  • Energy industry experience advantageous;

  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel;

  • Experience in the establishment or development of business partnering arrangements with commercial sites;

  • Strong data analysis skills;

  • Ability to present financial data to key stakeholders in a meaningful, simple, and concise forum;

  • Strong leadership, mentoring and communication skills; and

  • Regular travel to operating sites and Brisbane office as required.
